Brewers Dominate Rockies 7-1 Behind Strong Offense and Pitching

The Milwaukee Brewers continued their hot streak Tuesday night, cruising to a 7-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. After a successful 5-2 homestand, the Brewers kicked off their road trip in dominant fashion, winning their sixth game in the last seven.
Offense Ignites in the Third Inning
Both starting pitchers, Freddy Peralta for Milwaukee and Kyle Freeland for Colorado, opened the game with two scoreless innings. But the Brewers’ bats came alive in the third.
Back-to-back singles from Isaac Collins and Joey Ortiz set the table. After a groundout by Brice Turang moved them into scoring position, Jackson Chourio delivered a clutch two-RBI double to open the scoring. Chourio later stole third, setting up William Contreras, who recorded his first RBI of the season with a two-out single.
Rhys Hoskins and Sal Frelick followed with singles of their own, extending the inning and driving in another run for a 4-0 lead. Although Vinny Capra was robbed of a hit by Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, the Brewers had already done serious damage.
Peralta Shines on the Mound
Freddy Peralta continued his strong start to the 2024 season. He threw five solid innings, allowing just one run on three hits, with three walks and six strikeouts. The lone blemish was a solo home run by Brenton Doyle in the third inning.
Bullpen Slams the Door
The Brewers’ bullpen was lights-out.
- Abner Uribe tossed a scoreless sixth, working around a hit and walk while striking out two.
- Joel Payamps, Nick Mears (in his season debut), and Bryan Hudson each threw a clean inning with two strikeouts apiece, combining for nine of the team's 14 total strikeouts.
Power Surge in the Seventh
Milwaukee’s offense kept the pressure on in the seventh inning.
- Brice Turang launched a mammoth 444-foot home run, his second of the season, pushing the lead to 5-1.
- Christian Yelich followed with his second homer of the year after an intense eight-pitch at-bat.
- William Contreras capped the inning with a solo shot of his own — his first home run of the season — giving Milwaukee a commanding 7-1 lead.
Offensive Leaders
The Brewers tallied 11 hits on the night, with eight different starters recording at least one.
- Jackson Chourio stood out with a double, triple, and two RBIs.
- William Contreras and Rhys Hoskins each had two-hit performances.
- Five of the team’s hits went for extra bases, highlighting the club’s offensive balance.
