Dallas Mavericks have defied the odds and secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, winning the NBA Draft Lottery presented by State Farm. The lottery was held Monday at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.
This marks the first time in franchise history that the Mavericks hav
e won the draft lottery — and they did so with just a 1.8% chance to land the top pick.

With the No. 1 pick, the Mavericks are widely expected to select Cooper Flagg, the 6-foot-9 forward who took college basketball by storm in his freshman season at Duke University.

“It was out of my control,” Flagg told ESPN after the lottery. “I didn’t try to think about it too much.”
