Arizona Falls to Oklahoma State in Extra-Inning Battle, 4-2

The Arizona Wildcats baseball team came up short on Friday night, falling to Oklahoma State 4-2 in 10 innings in the opening game of a three-game weekend series.
Despite a dramatic ninth-inning home run by Aaron Walton that tied the game, the Wildcats couldn’t generate enough offense to overcome the Cowboys, who sealed the win with a clutch two-run single by Jayson Jones in the top of the 10th.
Game Recap: Arizona vs. Oklahoma State – April 11, 2025
Arizona struck first in the bottom of the first inning when Garen Caulfield scored on a fielder’s choice grounder from Mason White. However, Oklahoma State responded in the fourth, as Drew Culbertson’s two-out single drove in Garrett Shull and Ian Daugherty, putting the Cowboys ahead 2-1.
That score held until the bottom of the ninth, when Aaron Walton crushed a solo home run, his third hit of the game, to tie things up at 2-2. Unfortunately for Arizona, the comeback was short-lived. In the top of the 10th, Jayson Jones lined a 1-2 pitch into right field to bring home Nolan Schubart and Colin Brueggemann, giving Oklahoma State the final 4-2 edge.
Pitching Performances
