WWE Raw Recap: CM Punk & Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker Set for Saturday Night's Main Event
The road to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24 is heating up fast, with a blockbuster tag team match now confirmed following an intense episode of Monday Night Raw. CM Punk and Sami Zayn will team up to take on Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker in a match that stems from betrayal, long-standing grudges, and shifting alliances.
Punk’s Raw Return Fueled by Heyman Betrayal
CM Punk opened the show still emotionally wounded from Paul Heyman's WrestleMania betrayal. In a passionate promo, Punk admitted he was to blame for trusting Heyman again after over a decade of bad blood. The segment quickly escalated when Seth Rollins interrupted to defend Heyman, accusing Punk of avoiding accountability and playing the victim.
Tensions boiled over when Bron Breakker attacked Punk from behind, launching a vicious beatdown orchestrated by Rollins. Sami Zayn arrived to help Punk fight off the assault, but the numbers game proved too much. Just as it seemed all hope was lost, World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso made a surprise entrance, evening the odds and forcing Rollins and Breakker to retreat.
Tag Team Showdown Confirmed for May 24
Following the chaotic confrontation, WWE officially announced a high-stakes tag team match for Saturday Night’s Main Event: CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.
Backstage, Punk opened up about his difficulty trusting others but acknowledged the chemistry he shared with Zayn during Survivor Series: WarGames. The two shook hands, ready to face their dangerous adversaries.
Meanwhile, Rollins, Breakker, and Heyman hinted at deeper plans in the works, leaving the WWE Universe questioning what their next move might be.
Jey Uso Faces Dual Threats: Logan Paul and Gunther
Jey Uso’s night was far from over. The World Heavyweight Champion took center stage to address his next challenger, Logan Paul, who will face him at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
However, Uso was quickly met with another challenge. Former Intercontinental Champion Gunther emerged to declare that he would face the winner of Uso vs. Paul on the June 9 episode of Raw — just two nights after Money in the Bank.
Later in the show, Breakker struck again. Following a commercial break, footage revealed the NXT powerhouse ambushing Uso backstage, solidifying a singles match between them for next week's Raw.
WWE Women's Division Delivers in Electric Main Event
The women's division took center stage to close the show in a thrilling tag team match. Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley defeated Giulia and Roxanne Perez via pinfall after Ripley delivered the Riptide to Giulia. The match was given nearly 30 minutes of airtime and showcased the immense talent and depth of the Raw women’s roster.
Giulia, in her main roster debut, immediately proved she belongs among WWE's elite, while Perez seamlessly continued her momentum from NXT. The compelling in-ring action and strong storytelling underscored WWE’s renewed commitment to elevating women’s wrestling on Monday nights.
